The core mission of the conveyor cover is to provide a reliable protective barrier for the open air conveyor and the materials it conveys, as reflected in:
Rain and snow protection:
PROTECT MATERIAL QUALITY: Prevent rain and snow from soaking the material (e.g. coal, ore, grain, fertilizer, cement, etc.), avoiding the material from caking, losing, deteriorating, heating (e.g. risk of spontaneous combustion of coal) or adding unnecessary weight.
Prevent belt slippage: Wet and slippery belt surface will greatly reduce the friction between the belt and the driving pulley, resulting in slippage, runaway or even stoppage.
Prevent chute clogging: Wet material is more likely to stick and accumulate at the drop point and chute, causing clogging and affecting production continuity.
Protect equipment: Prevent rainwater from eroding the structural parts of the conveyor (bracket, rollers, roller bearing housing, etc.), electrical components (motor, control box, sensors) and the belt itself (especially canvas core, nylon core belt), prolonging the service life of the equipment and reducing the maintenance cost.
Wind and dust protection:
Reduce material loss: prevent light, powdery materials (such as coal dust, mineral powder, grain dust, cement ash) from being blown away by the wind, resulting in material loss and environmental pollution.
Improve the working environment: effectively inhibit the dust generated in the conveying process, protect the health of operators and meet the requirements of environmental protection.
Prevent the intrusion of foreign matter: block leaves, plastic bags, sand and gravel and other debris blown into the conveyor line by the wind, which may jam the equipment or contaminate the material.
Protect against sunlight and aging:
Protect the belt: Reduce the direct irradiation of ultraviolet rays on the rubber belt, slow down the aging and cracking speed of the rubber, and prolong the life of the belt.
Reduces equipment temperature: Shades the belt from direct sunlight to a certain extent, reducing the temperature of localized areas of the conveyor (especially the drive).
Safety Protection:
Forms a physical isolation, preventing personnel from accidentally contacting the running belt and pulley, and enhancing the level of safety on site.
