Installation of rain cover body (operate by type)
According to the type of rain cover (fixed, open-closed, observation window), the installation method is slightly different, but the core principle is "to splice from one end to the other end to ensure sealing and firmness".
1. Installation of fixed rain cover (most commonly used, suitable for areas that do not require frequent maintenance)
Splice sequence: Start from one end of the belt conveyor (such as the head or tail) and splice in a "V" shape towards the other end (i.e., the wave crests and troughs of adjacent rain covers are staggered to enhance waterproofing).
Covering and fixing: Place the single rain cover on the two side support frames, ensuring that the edges of the rain cover are fully attached to the frames (with a lap width of not less than 50mm to ensure load-bearing capacity). Then use self-tapping screws (or bolts) to secure the rain cover to the frames, with at least 4 fixing points per rain cover (2 on each side, evenly distributed). The screws need to be tightened to avoid loosening.
Splicing treatment: The overlapping length of two adjacent rain covers should reach 1 wave pitch (or according to design requirements, usually 100-150mm). Sealant can be applied to the overlapping area to further enhance the waterproof effect.
2. Installation of open and closed rain covers (applicable to areas requiring maintenance, such as near motors and rollers)
Foundation fixation: First, fix the "fixed side" (the side with the hinge) of the openable and closable rain cover on the frame according to the method for fixing the fixed rain cover. The hinge side needs to face the "non-passage side" (to avoid accidental contact by personnel passing through).
Installation of hinge and latch: Fix one end of the hinge to the fixed side of the rain cover and the other end to the movable side; then install the latch on the movable side (with the latch side facing the "passing side" for easy opening), ensuring that the movable side can open and close flexibly, and that the latch can fit tightly without gaps when closed.
3. Installation of observation window type rain cover (considering both protection and observation)
According to the installation rhythm of fixed rain covers, replace 1 observation window rain cover every 10-15 fixed rain covers (specific spacing according to design requirements).
The glass (or transparent plate) of the observation window should be installed in the rain cover frame in advance. During installation, ensure that the observation window and the rain cover frame are well sealed to prevent rainwater from infiltrating through gaps. The fixing method should be consistent with the fixed type, and the screws should avoid the observation window area to prevent damage to the transparent plate.
